Photography & attention.
Photography is part of my creative life: another way to look closely, notice a relationship, and decide what deserves a frame.
I’m Sainath Krishnamurthy, a designer and technologist based in Houston, Texas.

My work moves between physical objects, software, interaction, and the questions they raise about human experience. I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Industrial Design in 2022, and that material way of thinking continues to shape how I approach digital tools.
My primary focus is Protobench, the startup and hardware-design product I’m building within OpusLABS. Alongside it, I pursue Opus as ongoing research and Velogra as an experimental open-source project.
OpusLABS is the parent startup for this work. I’m building a company around human needs and creativity, with room for different forms: a tool that supports making, an expressive physical interface, or an ordinary object considered more carefully.
Photography is part of my creative life: another way to look closely, notice a relationship, and decide what deserves a frame.
DJing sits alongside my interest in rhythm, interaction, and the ways an experience unfolds over time.
I’m interested in posthumanist thinking, embodied interaction, and the meaning we give objects and artificial intelligence. My writing is where many of those questions become explicit.
My essay about an acre of land looks beyond technology toward family, self-sufficiency, and a more direct relationship with daily needs.
The projects and essays are two sides of the same practice. Making reveals constraints that an abstract idea can hide. Writing helps me recognize the assumptions inside a design decision.
Across both, I return to empathy, curiosity, and imagination: how to understand a need, remain open to an unfamiliar direction, and give an idea enough form to learn from it.
